I wasn’t really sure what to expect from this class, just on the computer everyday. Not knowing who our teacher is going to be and if he was going to be bland like computers are. But he’s not, he’s interesting and creative. He had us read a poem called The Moon by Robert Bly.

I feel like it really captured the whole sprit of this week. It talks about the moon, woods, darkness. This poem could actually be taken as a metaphor for something else but you’ll have to read it if you want to know. This poem makes me think about how when we were reading Beowulf in class, there was as fire burning in the background for noise. It might be because when you’re sitting around a fire, you can look up and see the moon but I think it’s more that they remind w=me of each other because they’re both comforting in a way. This class is quiet like when you sit around a fire under the moon but you hear all of us typing away on our keyboards and it’s like the cracking of the fire. It’s dark but with the monitors on it’s like the fire blasting. These things aren’t the same but I get the same comforting type feeling sitting in this classroom and sitting around a fire. We also got to read about Beowulf and how he’s a hero, it also reminded me of sitting around a fire just talking with a friend.
